IKEA hosts Malaysia's biggest housewarming party

In November 2015, IKEA opened a new store in Jalan Cochrane, Malaysia.


IKEA wanted to open in style and to fanfare. We created a campaign to spread awareness and buzz of every step of the build to inform the public and media that the store was ready to expand, ready to hire, ready to move in, ready to transform, and ready to transport.


Once opening day had arrived, the new IKEA Cheras store invited fans and consumers to celebrate.

IKEA’s new Malaysia store in a decade opens to much fanfare, reaching news outlets online and offline, as well as becoming a hot trending topic on Twitter.

News of the store’s opening reached news outlets, including a front cover and lead stories in main paper sections – totaling over 20 pieces – with #IKEACheras topping the trending chart on Twitter.

Media outreach led to over 20 stories in prominent publications
