Mandatory hashtags on LinkedIn?
It seems LinkedIn is keen to push the use of hashtags as a sorting option for content, with some users actually being forced to add a hashtag to their post to better categorize their entry. LinkedIn has confirmed that a test is being conducted with a small group of users which does, in fact, force them to add a hashtag on posts. If you’re not currently using hashtags on your LinkedIn posts, it may be time to start testing and refining.
LinkedIn adds GIFs in messaging
LinkedIn has added an immediately accessible GIF library within their message flow, powered by Tenor. The focus on messaging makes sense as the gif-based communication trend increases across platforms, and the use of LinkedIn messages having grown by 60% over the past year.
Video a priority format
LinkedIn polled 202 B2B digital marketers in the UK and Ireland between February and March 201. It was discovered that 62% saw video as the most important content format. This was followed by email, social media creative, and infographics. The format allows B2B brands to embrace creative storytelling opportunities such as product videos, how-to videos and explainer videos.
