Another step in the journey
Less than a year ago, Text100 leaders from around the world came together in Hong Kong to update our strategic vision, look into our future, and the future of our industry. What a year it’s been.
Not just for the unprecedented things that have happened in the world, which continue to evolve. But also for the steps Text100 has taken on the path we set out on in that meeting – we call this our Vision 2020.
A central element of our vision is to be the marketing communications agency that does inspiring work for the world’s most important brands. Doing inspiring work is at the heart of who we try to be every day as an agency. But it doesn’t just happen.
Our Vision 2020 strategy set us on a path to foster that inspiring work. In the past year, we’ve worked to make it happen with new approaches to creative development, including our BANG! creativity lab, our global IdeaHub and the launch of new products and services to our clients around the world.
We’ve simplified our structure in key markets to better reflect the marketing communications agency we have become versus the public relations agency we were born as 35 years ago. We’ve also continued down the path of our own technology journey, ensuring that being digital is who we are, not just what we do.
This evolution toward Vision 2020 continues in 2017, and I’m pleased to announce some exciting changes to our leadership team that will further advance our creative work, our talent initiatives, and our work in Insights and Analytics. These changes are effective February 1.
To lead our global creative team, Richard Parkinson, currently SVP Global Client Services, will join our worldwide Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the post of EVP and Global Creative Director.
Richard has 20 years of experience in designing and implementing global, creative, strategic brand and marketing programs that make a positive difference for internal and external audiences. In his new role, Richard will be responsible for leading Text100’s creative function, and driving a culture of innovation across our global offices. He has worked extensively across the technology, telecommunications, consumer, retail and financial services sectors with the likes of SunTrust Bank, Nokia, Vodafone, Skype and Primark. Richard also led the brand transformation of NCR. Before joining Text100, he was owner and CEO of the brand marketing agency, IncrediBull, which was purchased by Text100 in 2015.
Lee Nugent, currently MD, Consulting & Strategy for APAC, will also join the ELT as EVP and Regional Director for our Asia Pacific business. Lee will lead our 300+ consultants across Australia, China, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. He will continue incumbent APAC Regional Director Anne Costello’s great work building Text100’s capabilities and our profile as a cutting-edge provider of integrated marketing communications services.
Lee joined Text100 in July 2016, and was previously CEO of integrated comms and PR firm, Nelson Bostock Group, in London. He led the group from 2007-2016, and during his 20-year career has consulted with an enviable list of clients, including the BBC, Facebook, Amazon, Canon, Disney, Mercedes Benz, HTC, Salesforce, T-Mobile, Orange and EE.
One of our most important initiatives will be to ensure that Text100 continues to attract and retain the best talent to drive our vision and deliver for our clients. To provide greater focus on this, Anne Costello will move from her long-time role as Regional Director for APAC, initially stepping up to become Chair of the APAC region before taking on a global people-focused role for Text100.
Putting someone of Anne’s experience and seniority into the leadership of our Global People Development underscores Text100’s commitment to investing in our talent and skills. Anne has been an outstanding leader in APAC, leading a period of remarkable business growth in that region. Applying her leadership skills and knowledge of our business, our people, and our clients makes her ideally positioned to take on a global talent development role.
Finally, a critical area of focus for our clients is Insights and Analytics, which we’ve continued to enhance around the world over the last few years. These efforts will soon come together under the guidance of one of our strongest leaders, Cecile Missildine, who will take on the role of Global Insight and Analytics lead. Cecile will continue in her role as EVP and Regional Director of Text100 EMEA before moving into her new position when a successor is named. Cecile has been EMEA RD since 2012, and overseen our EMEA business through some of its most successful years in operation.
These are incredibly exciting times, and we’re thrilled to be able to add talent like Richard and Lee to our Executive team, while continuing to leverage Anne and Cecile’s expertise to advance Text100’s vision.
