Mindfulness in the workplace
We’ve shared some mental health stories from our European offices this week, as we want to start conversations around mental health throughout the agency. Removing the stigma around mental health is far from a quick fix. We’re working to make some small difference for our people and anyone else that reads our stories.
We’re working to do more.
Living in an “always on” world comes with its challenges; boundaries between our work and personal lives are often blurred. We have a responsibility to help our people cope with illness of any kind.
Mental health problems are on the rise with an estimated 1 in 4 people in the UK suffering from a mental illness. That’s 25 people just in our London office who may be affected, potentially with no support.
We want you to know we care
- We’ve developed a policy across the region to remind people of the benefits and services they have available to them
- We’ve created a “Little More Conversation” guide to help spot the signs of people suffering with mental health issues; offering suggestions of what people can do to help those who are struggling.
- We’re introducing Mental Health First Aiders. Every office in the region will have a couple of team members professionally trained in Mental Health First Aid.
- We’re also working on regional initiatives to introduce “mindful moments”; an opportunity to take a moment out when needed.
It might not seem a lot, but every bit counts: If we can help just one person, it’ll all be worth it.
