Text 100 UK launches new global agency Creating Sixth PR Brand for Text 100 Group

LONDON - June 14th, 1999 - Text 100 Group plc, the world's leading technology PR Group, today announced the launch of its sixth PR company. Code named Ignite, the new company will provide full service international PR to the best companies in the world regardless of industry. Ignite will launch under its new company name on August 1st 1999.

Glen Goldsmith, formerly an associate director of the UK company, will now head Text 100 UK. Following this launch, Text 100 UK will retain 40 staff and clients including Xerox, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Telewest and Cambridge Technology Partners.

Ignite, which is being formed out of Text 100's UK business, will launch with 70 people in the UK and a client portfolio including GartnerGroup, Neurodynamics, Stratus Computer, Amazon, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft.

Katie Kemp, former Text 100 UK managing director, takes the role of president for the Ignite Group and will be announcing senior UK management appointments throughout July. The company will also open branded business units based in Text 100's offices in Ireland, Germany, South Africa and India and it is intended that these too will be incorporated as separate businesses as soon as it becomes practical. Ignite, joins Text 100 International, Bite, Joe Public Relations, EVUS, and eXtra as the sixth member of the Text 100 Group of companies. "This is the latest logical extension of our business model - which consists of multiple PR brands, each one offering precisely targeted expertise and methodologies to subtly different sub sectors of the technology industry. It's also no coincidence that this latest move delivers a further raft of rewarding entrepreneurial opportunities for our people worldwide," said Tim Dyson, Chief Executive Officer of Text 100 Group plc.

"We now have six brands within the group, two of which are international, and we fully expect this number to grow over the next two years as the technology industry continues to expand. We believe that encouragement of this kind of entrepreneurial spirit amongst our people is the best way to sustain our growth in the long term. Our aim is to provide increasingly focused services to our clients, exciting opportunities for our staff, and a consistently strong return to our shareholders."

Clients of Text 100 UK are equally enthusiastic about the company's strategy:

"We chose originally to work with Text 100 because they are a forward-thinking consultancy that embraces change," said Dave Cotterill, marketing director with management consultancy Cambridge Technology Partners. "The results they produce for us are terrific, yet they are still prepared to think innovatively about how they can further improve their service. I fully support this re-organisation of Text 100 UK and look forward to the benefits I know it will bring us."
