SAN FRANCISCO - January 13, 1999 -- Text 100 Group plc, the leading global technology PR consultancy, today announced the appointment of Ryan Donovan as general manager of the San Francisco office. Donovan was formerly a vice president and group manager with Thomas Associates, the hub of Ketchum Public Relations' Global Technology Practice. Donovan brings 10 years of PR counseling, strategic planning and management experience to Text 100. He will be responsible for the profitability and growth of the San Francisco office in relation to Text 100's overall North American strategic plan that includes offices in Seattle, Boston and Rochester, NY.

At Thomas Associates, Donovan managed a wide range of technology accounts including Sun Microsystems' (NASDAQ: SUNW) Java Systems Group, Active Software, Diba, Actra Business Systems, Softbank's Java Internet Business Expo, and IDG Conference Management Group's Demo conference. Prior to Thomas, he spent nearly two years managing a comprehensive national business and technology media program for Andersen Consulting while with Golin/Harris Communications. He was integral to the launch of Andersen's Palo Alto Center for Strategic Technology as well as the launch of Andersen's electronic commerce practice. In addition, Donovan spent a number of years managing consumer PR programs for several brands of the Quaker Oats Company and Sara Lee Corporation. A native of Minnesota, Donovan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in broadcast journalism and a minor in film criticism. He also studied at the City University's Graduate School of Journalism in London.
