SEATTLE - Sept. 2, 1998 -- Text 100 Group plc, the leading global technology PR consultancy, today announced the appointment of Deb Hagen as general manager of the Seattle office. Hagen was formerly the group vice president of Shandwick International where she headed the Seattle division that serviced Microsoft Corporation's Interactive Media Group (IMG) finished goods account. Hagen brings 15 years of PR counseling, strategic planning and management experience to Text 100. She will be responsible for the profitability and growth of the Seattle office in relation to Text 100's overall North American strategic plan that includes offices in San Francisco, Boston and Rochester, NY.

At Shandwick International, Hagen was responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of programs for Microsoft's games, hardware, kids and reference and mapping businesses. Hagen came to Seattle in Oct. 1996 to open the office of Shandwick specifically for Microsoft. Prior to her Seattle move, she was group vice president in Shandwick's Minneapolis office where she had spent 10 years working with a diverse group of clients including Eastman Kodak Company, Honeywell Inc., The Toro Company and USG Corp. An Iowa native, Hagen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State University in journalism and mass communications with minors in marketing and political science.
