Text 100 Group Plc Announces Strong Maiden Results On Ofex

Text 100 Group PLC, the international technology-specialist PR consultancy which counts Microsoft, The Document Company, Xerox, BT, Cisco and Gateway 2000 among its clients, has announced strong growth in its maiden results as an OFEX-quoted public company. The Group has also announced that it hopes to graduate to London's main market within two to three years.

Worldwide turnover was up 18% to just under £11 million, pre-tax profit up 22% to £1.24 million and the dividend up 20% to 1.2p per share. Earnings-per-share rose 32% to 4p.

Chairman Tom Lewis said: 'Behind these figures lies another year of strong organic growth. Without exception, our large Group subsidiaries performed well - most notably Text 100 UK and Bite Communications in London, Text 100 Corp in Seattle and Text 100 Pty Limited in South Africa. The year saw a long list of new business wins from clients such as Orange, Micro Focus, BT Syncordia and the IT division of Tesco. New Group subsidiaries were established in Madrid and New Delhi, and the year's figures also include the initial investment involved in establishing offices in Boston and San Francisco, both of which opened for business shortly after the year-end.'

Lewis continued: 'The Group has made a satisfactory start to the new financial year, and in addition to Boston and San Francisco, has opened a new subsidiary in Milan.'

Text 100 Group PLC arrived on OFEX by way of an introduction - with a share price of 30p - on 11th March 1997. In the days leading up to this results announcement, the shares were trading at 39.5p, giving a market capitalisation of £8 million.
