PRWeek Awards name Text 100 International as finalist in three award categories
SAN FRANCISCO - January 14, 2002-Text 100 International, one of the largest global independent technology public relations consultancies in the world, today announced that it has been short listed for three awards in PRWeek's 2002 Awards. Text 100 is a nominee in the following categories: PR Agency of the Year, Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year, and PR Professional of the Year. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on February 21, 2002 at Tavern on the Green in New York City.
"2001 was a truly exceptional year for Text 100, and we are deeply honored to be considered for these prestigious awards," said Aedhmar Hynes, CEO of Text 100 International. "These are all substantial recognitions of our enduring commitment to employing creative people who do outstanding work."
The award for PR Agency of the Year is open to any PR agency headquartered in the United States. Judges look for evidence of financial growth, client list growth, client retention, PR innovation and creativity. Significant achievements in 2001 included the acquisition of a key portion of IBM's global PR, which was highlighted as a proof point for the success of Text 100's organic growth strategy and more than 20 years legacy as a technology PR pioneer.
Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year honors the most outstanding use of PR in the launch of a new company, or in a corporate rebranding initiative. The winner will have demonstrated effective recognition beyond mere brand name recognition to show an appreciation and understanding of key message points among the target audience. Text 100's launch of BlueArc positioned the client as the dominant force in the multi-billion dollar networked attached storage market. The launch resulted in 50 articles in which BlueArc was clearly stealing mind share from its top competitors. Additionally, 95 percent of this coverage included a positive message about the company. Technology industry luminary George Gilder remarked that BlueArc's product was the most disruptive technology he had ever seen.
PRWeek confers PR Professional of the Year to the individual who most demonstrates outstanding personal achievement within the PR industry during the period covered by this year's awards, as well as career achievements to date. Amanda Mellinger, an account manager in Text 100's New York office, exhibited uncommon valor during a roller coaster first year for the new office. She saw the office grow from 3 to 30 people, she was at one time or another the most senior or most junior person in the office, and through massive change spurred by Text 100's IBM win and subsequent hiring rush, she stayed focused on doing great work for her clients.
Text 100 also wishes to congratulate its client Xerox Corporation for their nomination in the Corporate PR Team of the Year category. Corporate PR Team of the Year is awarded to the in-house PR team that demonstrates evidence of success in tackling crises, addressing management issues and goals and executing campaigns or programs during the periods covered by the Awards. Other considerations include corporate communications management achievements, such as cost-effective use of in-house and external resources, department restructuring programs and the successful integration of other communications functions (advertising, event management, Web development) into the PR function.
