SAN FRANCISCO - August 9, 2001 - Text 100 International today issued the following statement regarding its appointment to manage IBM's product public relations business:
"We consider the opportunity to represent IBM a significant achievement for Text 100, and we are extremely proud to be chosen as one of three from the many fine agencies that participated in this highly competitive review," said Aedhmar Hynes, CEO Text 100 International. "As one of the few independent, global technology PR agencies in the world, we consider this win a testament to our global proposition and our absolute commitment to an organic growth model, which we believe enables Text 100 to deliver unique PR campaigns on behalf of our clients. We're excited to be working with IBM, and we're excited about what this partnership means for our people and our stakeholders."
The appointment follows a decision by IBM to consolidate its global PR work and align agencies against its three main business areas - computing products, business services and solutions, and technology innovation.
The contract, once finalized, is expected to take effect on October 1, will run for two years and is anticipated to comprise annual billings in excess of $18 million. Text 100 CEO Aedhmar Hynes will manage the account.
