Twitter Unveils Web Analytics Tool – Yes, you heard right: No more rushing around the Internet to track down how far your tweets were shared… it’s all going to be right on Twitter, similar to what Facebook Insights offers for page managers. Made possible by Twitter’s acquisition of BackType in June, Twitter Web Analytics will allow website owners to see how much traffic their sites receive from Twitter and the effectiveness of Twitter integrations on their sites.
Facebook Rumored to Launch Redesign at f8 Developer Conference – We’ve heard about the Facebook Subscribe button that allows users to follow people they find interesting, even without being connected to them. However, Mashable is reporting that Facebook plans to roll out a full redesign of user profiles at its f8 Developer Conference on Thursday. These new developments will encourage users to stay on profiles longer by incorporating a media platform and social ecommerce opportunities. TechCrunch also is reporting that Facebook plans to launch Read, Listened, Watched and Want buttons, similar to the Like button – thus allowing brands using pages to glean even more in-depth insights into user habits. Check out our follow up on the f8 conference here.
WSJ Social Filters Content through Social Graph –The Wall Street Journal launched “WSJ Social” to offer its content directly through Facebook, with the goal being to “make WSJ content available where people are,” according to the general manager of the WSJ Digital Network. Could this be the first of many news organizations trying to turn traditional media consumption into a social experience?

YouTube Adds Editing Capabilities Onsite – Previously, when a video was uploaded to YouTube, users could trim time from either end of the file, swap out the soundtrack or add text over the video. Now, YouTube allows users a full suite of editing capabilities right on the site – including stabilizing footage and adding effects. For a great tutorial of how to use these new features, check out this article.
