SXSW Future 15 Program: Google TV to iPad Apps – The Connected TV Experience
Added to the SXSW lineup in 2010, the Future 15 program is a series of short, 15-minute presentations providing forward-looking visions from individuals on a variety of topics – from digital entertainment, mobile technology, social media best practices and more.
This year, on Monday, March 14 at 12:15 p.m., Text 100 client Rovi will present their insights on the rapidly changing world of digital entertainment and how advancements in technology are altering one of the most beloved activities of our time – watching TV.
At SXSW 2009, Rovi organized a panel on the very same topic. At that time, discussions taking place among the SXSW set about “Connected TV” were still few and far between. Just two years later, the growing interest in this topic is apparent. Nearly 10 speaking sessions are focused on exploring the intersection of the Web and TV and what this means for traditional forms of entertainment distribution, consumer access and discovery, advertising models, etc.
We recently had the chance to sit down with Rovi Chief Evangelist, Richard Bullwinkle, to discuss Rovi’s presence at SXSW this year and why the event is a great forum for discussing how our interaction with entertainment is on the brink of a major revolution. See our video with him below.
